Abstract

This paper describes the frequency conversion of CW coherent light with external enhance-ment cavities. The generation of 397nm UV radiation by frequency doubling of a 0.78μm diode laser and generation of 194nm VUV radiation by sum-frequency mixing are described. In the frequency doubling experiment, a UV radiation of several μW was generated, while in the sum-frequency mixing, a 16μW VUV output was obtained.
