Abstract
Sum frequency generation (SFG) is one of the attractive methods for blue lasing with easy performance. Focusing on SFG, particularly, pumped by a single laser diode and using KTP (KTiOPO4) grown in a tungustate flux, we studied the phase matching conditions and the achievable shortest wavelength. The phase matching angles of the SFG using a Nd : YAG laser (pumped by LD) and LD (0.809μm) were θ= 90°, φ=84°or θ=74°, φ=90°, which were slightly different from the reported ones (θ=90°, φ=90°) . We could phase-match the system to a shorter wavelength, 0.452μm, than those reported.
