Abstract
Output stability and noise-reduction for high-brightness solid-state lasers have been discussed. Unstable operations of rod-geometry solid-state lasers are analyzed by using wave-optics calculations considering polarization-dependent bifocusing of solid-state rods. It is shown that multiple-stability zones of resonators lead to unstable and noisy operation and bifocusing compensation could ensure stable and low-noise operations.
