Cw oscillation of Pb1-xSnxTe diode lasers at 77° K was achieved. The lasers are double hetero-structured, and were fabricated by liquid phaseepitaxial method. The life of the laser was more than 3000hrs. Using these lasers, infrared spectra of C2H6, SO2, NH3 and SF6 were observed.
