Abstract

GEKKO IV glass laser system delivering output power of 4 TW in 100 ps and output energy of 2 kJ in 1 ns in 4 beams has been successfully developed. System design, major components, and operation of this laser system are described, and various aspects related to high power laser systems are briefly reviewed.
