This study focuses on the clinical knowledge of accounting professionals, particularly the process of selecting clients, and examines what methods can be used. Interviews with tax accounting firms that have small and medium-sized enterprises as clients revealed that they select clients based on the characteristics of the individual managers rather than the actual situation of the companies, and that they evaluate risks from multiple perspectives.
