Abstract
Thermal decomposition products of stereoisomeric polypropylenes(PP) are identified by simultaneous gas chromatography(GC) and mass spectrometry. Mass spectra of all the decomposition products separated by GC are given. The unknown decomposition products are identified on the basis of the mass spectra and the retention indexes, considering the decomposition mechanism. Retention indexes of stereoisomers of C11 to C15 hydrocarbons are determined by comparison of pyrograms of PP with different stereo-regularities.
