Abstract
Recently a number of new plant growth hormonal steroids named brassinosteroids have been isolated and identified in higher plants. Special attention has been paid to brassinosteroids because these steroids promote cell elongation, cell division, and plant growth, and eventually increase agricultural crop yield. Now brassinosteroids constitute a new class of plant growth regulator. In this review, we describe the mass spectra of brassinosteroids and their microanalytical method as bismethane-boronates by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS).
