Abstract
It is indicated that from the mass spectra of several n-alkanes the ion groups formed through the processes explained by QET and those by MOT exist. The ion group containing the same carbon numbers and the ion produced from only CC-bond scission in that ion group vs. the changes of Ve were adjusted, respectively. From the results, it is noted that the produced ions are explained by QET as the range of Ve was from IP to IP+D(CC), most of the ions are explained by MOT as from IP+D(CC) to 20V(∼30V), and the ions resulting from the successive scissions caused by the excess energies are added as over 20V(∼30V).
