Abstract
A new method for plotting linearized spectra from an exponentially scanned magnetic mass spectrometer on a strip chart recorder has been developed. The chart paper is advanced by a pulse motor which is fed from V/F converter, the input signal of which is proportional to the square of the scanning signal. The scanning speed can be varied without changing the linear mass scale on chart. The linearity is sufficient to interpolate mass numbers over a span of one hundred mass units.
