Abstract

With the diversification of industrial components in recent years, bonding technology for dissimilar materials has become essential. In this study, we designed and synthesized a methacryl monomer with a 2-aminopyridyl group, an analogue of the catechol group. The photo-adhesive property was evaluated using the monomer, a radical photo-initiator, and a commercially available mono-functional methacryl monomer. UV irradiation at a wavelength of 365 nm with an irradiation energy of 1 J/cm2 yielded adhesive strengths of 5.3 MPa and 9.9 MPa for Glass-Cu and Glass-Al photo-adhesive samples, respectively.
