Abstract

The recent aging society and declining birthrate is one of the most important issues for Mazda. Aiming to develop a manufacturing environment where workers can work safely and without strain, we have established a structure to evaluate and manage workloads correctly and efficiently. For this purpose, we used AI to estimate the worker's skeletal structure and to convert his/her working posture into data, we developed a workload evaluation system that automatically evaluates physical workload based on ergonomics. In addition, to share issues in the production process and prevent problems before they occur, a network system was established to centrally manage work posture data and load evaluation results. These systems laid the foundation for realizing a safe and easy-to-work-in manufacturing environment.
