Notes on Frullania inflata complex from Japan

Abstract

  I confirmed the occurrence of Frullania inflata GOTT. based on several collections made on bark of trees and calcareous rocks in several localities in central Japan. I proposed a new variety, F. inflata var. magnicorpa, which is distinct from F. inflata in the fact that the cells of leaf-lobes contain a single, very large oil-body (except for the marginal cells which contain 2 oil-bodies).
