Studies on the dung-breeding flies in Japan : I. Three newly recorded species of the genus Gymnodia Robineau-Desvoidy, with notes on distribution and biology of Japanese species (Diptera : Muscidae)

Abstract

Three species belonging to the genus Gymnodia R.-D., namely G. humilis (Zetterstedt), G. lasiopa Emden, G. subtilis (Stein), were newly recorded from Japan. A key to the 8 Japanese species is presented, and their distribution and biology are briefly discussed.
