Abstract

Inhibitory activities of two newly synthesized oxim ether compounds with juvenile hormone activity, S-21149 [propionaldehyde oxime O-2-(4-phenoxyphenoxy) ethyl ether] and S-21150 [propionaldehyde oxime O-2-(4-phenoxyphenoxy)-propyl ether] on adult emergence were evaluated on housefly, Musca domestica L. S-21150 showed higher inhibitory activity than S-21149,and both showed higher activity than methoprene in the artificial and chicken manure mediums on eggs or larvae. By topical application on 4-day-old larvae, S-21149 and S-21150 showed higher inhibitory activity than methoprene, and the adults emerged from the topically treated larvae showed slight decrease in oviposition.
