Abstract
The genus Siphunculina Rondani, containing medically important species, is taxonomically studied based on extensive collections from 12 countries in the Oriental Region and Far East. Following 5 species are newly described and illustrated : ceylonica sp. nov. (Sri Lanka), bella sp. nov. (Okinawa, Taiwan, Myanmar, Nepal), hirtifrons sp. nov. (Nepal), carinata sp. nov. (Pakistan), and saigusai sp. nov. (Japan). Following 3 species are newly recorded : manipurensis Cherian from Pakistan, sharmai Cherian from Nepal and simulata Kanmiya from Korea. A extensive key to the known 19 species of these countries is provided.
