Abstract

Tabanid flies belonging to 6 gerera, 16 species, were collected by a CO_2-lured mosquito-net trap at 7 sites around Mts. Akagi in Gunma Prefecture in early August 1988. Hirosia humilis was most dominant, comprising 71.6% of the total catches, followed by Tabanus rufidens 7.9%, T. fulvimedioides 4.8% and Isshikia japonica 4.1%. Haematopota nasuensis was collected at Lake Ohnuma near the summit, the 2nd collection record for this species.
