Abstract
The genus Siphunculina Rondani from Nepal, including species known as eye flies that transmit some eye diseases and cause considerable annoyance in the Old World tropics, is taxonomically examined. Eight species are recorded, one of which, S. stigmatica sp. nov. is described as new to science and three of which, S. funicola (de Meijere), S. nitidissima Kanmiya, and S. simulata Kanmiya are newly recorded from Nepal. A comprehensive key to 8 species of the genus from Nepal and 6 already-known species from India is provided as well as illustrations of their male genitalia and descriminating marks on the head for the easy separation relevant to both fauna.
