Abstract
Conventional silver oxide batteries used for quartz watches contain a small amount of mercury or lead in order to suppress generation of hydrogen gas. This paper presents methods for suppressing hydrogen gas generation without using these additives. This proposed method has been successfully implemented in mass-production of eco-friendly mercury/lead free batteries.
