Verification of the Mechanical Strength of the High-Temperature Piezoelectric Materials

Abstract

  Using a piezoelectric single crystal having a piezoelectric performance to high temperature, it has been developed combustion pressure sensor for measuring the combustion pressure of the internal combustion engine directly. In this paper, the measurement of the compressive strength of Ca₂Al₂SiO₇ (CAS), one of the piezoelectric single crystal of a candidates for the combustion pressure sensor, and we confirmed the compressive strength improvement by element substitution of Ca to Sr, SrCaAl₂SiO₇ (SrCAS).
