Abstract
Finding correspondences among organ models is essential to construct a statistical shape model of the organ models. The authors describe various mapping methods which are useful for finding the correspondences. Mapping organ models onto a common surface enables to deal with the organ models via the same surface. This makes the correspondence problem simpler than dealing with the models directly. In this paper, first, four requirements for the mapping methods are described to achieve reliable correspondences effectively. Then, while considering the four requirements, the authors introduce conventional mapping methods for finding the correspondences among organ models.
