Abstract

A variety of imaging techniques have been developed by taking advantage of the high brilliance and wavelength flexibility of synchrotron radiation. In the author’s laboratory, analyses of three-dimensional structures of human brain tissues and other samples have been conducted by using nano-CT and micro-CT at the synchrotron radiation facilities of SPring-8 and the Advanced Photon Source of Argonne National Laboratory. This paper presents best practices of nano-CT and micro-CT studies on biological tissues to introduce synchrotron radiation imaging from the viewpoint of a facility user without getting into technicalities.
