Abstract

The effects of curing temperature on the properties of organic-inorganic hybrid coating were investigated. The coating was obtained by the hydrolysis of methyltrimethoxysilane and the subsequent condensation.

The curing temperature had little effect on pencil hardness, contact angle against water, and tape peeling load value of the coating.

The higher curing temperature improved the abrasion resistance against the wool felts.

ATR-FTIR spectroscopy indicated that the higher curing temperature decreased the contents of Si-OH and increased the content of Si-CH3 on the surface of the coating.
