Achievement of circular economy is indispensable for the realization of carbon neutral society. However, the achievement is difficult to realize by the technological overcome only without any economic benefits. In this context, circular economy should involve business aspect for their economic activity. Here, based on questionnaire results obtained from plastic-related companies, we demonstrated that the traceability and the diagnostic technology for chemical materials are important to enrich the economic value of recycling value-chain. Value creation of the economic activity (Koto-dzukuri in Japanese) is also necessary for the purpose. Combination of these three may be the crucial solution to survive the carbon neutral society.
