Abstract
The article focused on the combination effect of the flame retardant agent and the coagents to design the electric cable that have not only the excellent flame retardability but also the sufficient mechanical properties for the practical use. The chosen flame retardant agents were nonhalogen types such as magnesium hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide and the those of chemically modified. The coagents studied were carbon black, phosphoric ester, organopolysiloxane and hydroxy zinc stannic acid. As a result, we concluded that chemically modified magnesium hydroxide with organopolysiloxane coagents showed the excellent flame retardability and mechanical properties.
