Abstract
A new method, SAICAS, was developed to characterize standard grade ABS resin differing in physical properties. Tensile strength, flexual strength and Izod impact strength as estimated by the usual method was found to be closely correlated with shear strength as determined by SAICAS. In this method, the shapes of samples do not have to be taken into consideration and the required cutting area is quite small.
Physical properties of polymers can be caracterized by shear strength as estimated by SAICAS.
