Abstract
An experimental investigation aimed at controlling cavity flow noise by using piezo-film actuators was carried out. Two pieces of thin piezo-film were attached to the plate surface at the upstream edge of the cavity. These were used to introduce perturbations with different phases along the span-wise direction. The active flow control reduced the noise level by up to 5 dB.
