Abstract

The nuclear power plant accident caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake spread radioactive materials widely around Fukushima. The interruption of farming caused by the evacuation of residents and the decontamination of farmland had a significant impact not only on cultivation, but also on the surrounding vegetation and management of weeds. This report briefly reviews the weed problems caused by the nuclear power plant accident that were investigated by the Tohoku Agricultural Research Center.
