Abstract

Conventional public comment systems have a number of challenges not only in existing public legislature and administration both at national and regional level, but also in evidence-based policy making in vogue. Under the circumstances we have developed the concept of “Interactive Public Comment” and applied it into the making of national science, technology and innovation policy. This paper examines two case studies on the “Interactive Public Comment” for regional policy. We conclude that the “Interactive Public Comment” can promote the diversity of evidences for regional policy making and evaluation as complementary to conventional public comment systems.
