Abstract
A tropical white rot basidiomycete Echinochaete ruficeps (Berk. & Br.) Ryvarden, which had been rarely found in Japan, continuously apperared at Mt. Yoshida, Kyoto. This fungus occurred from May to September, when temperature rose up to 25 ℃ and above. An increasing number of fruit-bodies have been observed in the last four years. Furthermore, the fruit-bodies were found in other areas of the Kinki region. This suggests that there are E. ruficeps colonies in Kyoto and its surroundings.
