Abstract
Three kinds of cyanate ester resin with aralkyl structure were synthesized, and the properties of the cured resins were investigated. As an aralkyl structure, phenol-pheny aralkyl, phenol-biphenyl structure and naphthol-phenyl aralkyl structure were introduced. Three aralkyl cyanate ester resins showed high flame-retarding property. It was also shown that naphtholphenyl and phenol-biphenyl type cyanate ester had higher glass transition temperature introducting rigid struc in comparison with phenol-phenyl type. Regarding dielectric properties, aralkyl cyanate esters showed lower dielectric dissipation factor and water absorption than those of bisphenol A cyanate ester resin.
