Formaldehyde Resins (107) HMO Calculation of Phenol, Urea and Formaldehyde

Abstract

As a preliminary study on the quantum chemistry of the formation reactions of phenol-formaldehyde resin and urea-formaldehyde resin, simple HMO calculations were carried out with respect to the following six species of reagents :
OH
O^-
NH₂NH₂C=O
NH₂NH^-C=O
CH₂=O and ⁺CH₂-OH
