Abstract
The study was performed on the influence of moisture absorption and baking at 250°C on the thermal and mechanical properties of the cured products from naphthalene based epoxy resins and curing agents with aralkyl structures.
The cured products from naphthol based resins had a small influence of moisture absorption on the thermal and mechanical properties, associated with their lower moisture absorption corresponding to their higher hydrophobic properties. The influence of baking at 250°C on Tg and mechanical properties in the cured products from the naphthalene based resins was less than that from phenyl ring based resins. These results seemed to depend on higher aromaticity of the naphthalene based resins.
