Abstract
More than 20 years has passed since Electron Beam (EB) curing technology was first developed.
Although this technology has been used in commercial production lines in various industries, recent introduction of low-energy curtain type EB equipment is further accelerating its introduction into industry. Low-energy curtain type equipment has succeeded in making the entire unit very compact and safe with selfshielding of X-rays, and realized higher beam current and efficiency, resulting in higher productivity with less energy consumption.
These improvement in source technology has developed many new application fields such as paper carton printing, magnetic media, PSA/release tape, crosslinking of plastic film, etc.
