Abstract
Photocrosslinking polymers have been used in wide areas because of their thermal and mechanical stability. It is necessary, in some cases, to remove the crosslinked resins from each substrate, though the removal without damaging the substrates is very difficult. To eliminate such a drawback, we have developed photochemically and/or thermally crosslinkable polymers which can be removed after use. Three systems were designed and prepared : (1) blends of base polymers and thermally degradable crosslinkers, (2) novel polymers bearing thermally degradable epoxy units, and (3) multifunctional acrylate monomers bearing acetal units in their molecules. In this article, the recent progress in the development of reworkable photocrosslinking polymers is reviewed.
