Now and Future of Color Electric Paper - Introduction to Cholesteric Liquid Crystal e-paper

Abstract

Fujitsu has launched world first film based color e-paper in 2005 and has been continuing improvement especially on its size, resolution and optical characteristic. In this issue, we would like to introduce principle of cholesteric liquid crystal e-paper, feature of 8-inche and 12-inche panels, and the device which we adapted our e-paper panel.
