Abstract
This paper describes about TH gravure that is one of the methods of a conventional gravure using an offset half-tone positive. In this study, the cell volume of the TH gravure is estimated using a lazer confocal microscope. There are some cells that have an individual volume in the continuous tone of the TH gravure, and these average volumes are as steady as their tonal value. It comes from dividing the positive dots by the gravure screen, which is derived from "diffusion exposure process2)". Those printed dots which consist of various cell volumes could improve the tonal jump.
