Abstract
This paper presents many reversible data compression methods for pre-press images. At first, pre-processing algorithms which make data compression before image coding are shown. Next, bit plane image coding algorithms and bit assignment algorithms are introduced. Last, image coding methods using density data are shown. These methods are effective for computer generated images. Generally, these reversible methods can be taken about 50% compression ratio for natural images.
