Abstract
Fuji's off-press proof system “Color Art” can easily form sharp patterns of arbitrary shape on any substrates. By applying the “Color Art” to analyze the optical properties of the substrate or printing paper, some interesting results are obtained. We prepared rectangular wave paterns with a series of spatial frequencies on test papers. On the other hand, we made half tone screen patterns on the paper to measure the optical dot gain. The light intensity at a few tens micro-meters or more from the impinging point correlates well with the optical dot gain.
