Abstract
Due to introduction of color managing system, quality control in color printing tends to employ colorimetric values rather than conventional density values. In this introductory papers, basic ideas of color measurement (colorimetry) are described mainly focusing on practical engineers. Firstly, basic facts of light and color are explained, and terminology and two colorimetric systems are introduced.
