Potential and problems of pigments for ink jet application were reviewed. Micro-encapsulation technique was proposed to achieve excellent dispersibility and dispersion stability of pigment dispersions. In addition, the dispersions of micro-encapsulated pigments showed excellent resistance to water-soluble organic solvents.
