Abstract
At present, it is generally understood that the sentences of Kojiki are written in "anomalous Chinese writing style". The name, "anomalous Chinese writing style", was advocated by Hashimoto Shinkichi. According to him, "anomalous Chinese writing style" is the writing style which was intended to be in the regular Chinese writing style, but written in a different style by mistake. Hashimoto understood that the sentences of Kojiki were not written in "anomalous Chinese writing style" but in " Yamato writing style" in which the Japanese sentences were written using Chinese characters. Following the history of the study since then, Hashimoto's logical understanding of "anomalous Chinese writing style" was not correctly passed on. His cardinal statement has been overlooked and misunderstood until now. In this paper, the author examines the history of the study concerning "Yamato writing style" and claims that we need to go back and start the logical discussion on Hashimoto's understanding, not to leave the misunderstanding as it is, and reconsider Hashimoto's statement.
