Michael Addition of Nitroalkanes Catalysed by Highly Nucleophilic Triaryl`phosphine, [2, 4, 6-(CH₃O)₃C₆H₂]₃P

Abstract

A highly nucleophilic triarylphosphine, [2, 4, 6-(CH₃O)₃C₆H₂]₃P, was found to work as a convenient and excellent catalyst for the Michael addition reactions of CH₂=CHCN, CH₂=CHCOOCH₂CH₃, and CH₂=CHC(O)CH₃ with some nitroalkanes.
