Four cases of prurigo pigmentosa were reported. Their age ranged from 14 to 21. Pruritic eruptions consisting of small brownish papules and of grossly reticulated brown pigmentation were observed mainly in the covered areas. Histologically the lesion was characterized by (1) scattered eosinophilic degenerated keratinocytes in the lower epidermis, (2) partial destruction of the basal cell layer, (3) edema of the dermal papillae, (4) perivascular lymphocytic infiltration, and (5) incontinentia pigmenti histologica.
