Abstract
A patient with recurring annular erythemas, a 29-year-old woman, was shown to have systemic lupus erythematosus after ten years’ of observation. When fully developed, this disorder presented the following findings; (1) leucopenia, (2) hemolytic anemia, (3) positive rheumatoid factor, (4) positive LE cells, (5) positive anti-nuclear factor and anti-DNA antibody, (6) low CH50 values, (7) photosensitivity, (8) demonstration of microtubular structure, and (9) no specific immunohistological findings. It is suggested that annular erythema should also be considered as a cutaneous manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus.
