Abstract
Twenty cases of tinea cruris treated with phenyl 11-iodo-10-undecynoate were reported. Nineteen patients recovered but one patient was not completely cured. No side effects were encountered. Cytological changes in Trichophyton rubrum associated with exposure to the antifungal agent phenyl 11-iodo-10-undecynoate were investigated by means of electron microscopy. Fungus cells treated with 50γ/ml of the drug for 1 hour showed exhibiting plasmolysis of all cytoplasmic structures.
