Abstract
Nevus pigmentosus is often associated with epidermoid cysts, which show an enlargement of the nevus. This paper discusses a 29-year-old woman who presented this complicated condition. She noticed a pigmented spot on her right cheek three years ago which had gradually reddened and become swollen. The lesion was removed under local anesthesia. Histopathological findings revealed a compound nevus with epidermoid cysts with a foreign body reaction around the cyst. Six cases have been reported in literature since 1981 in Japan, and the clinical evaluation are discussed.
