Abstract
We describe a 62-year-old female case of psoriasis arthropathica accompanied with severe bone deformity in the fingers and toes. She had not been treated for either psoriatic eruption or arthropathy for the past twenty-five years. She developed multiple round scaly erythema. Laboratory studies revealed an increased level of the erythrocyte sedimention rate while the serum rheumatoid factor was negative. X-ray examinations showed severe bone deformity of the fingers and toes. Treatment with etretinate showed a good response to skin lesion. In addition, we also reviewed the clinical features of the thirty-six Japanese patients with psoriasis arthropathica reported from 1981 to 1992.
