Abstract
Seven cases of blistering distal dactylitis were reported. The age of the patients ranged from age 1 to age 6, and the first examination ranged from spring to summer. In all cases, a large tense bulla was found at the distal end of the phalanges. In four cases, group A β Streptococcus haemolyticus was isolated, in 2 cases Staphylococcus aureus was isolated while in 1 case, both bacteria were isolated. Blistering distal dactylitis presents a solitary bulla and should be carefully differentiated from burns. However, the Japanese cases hitherto reported have tended to show markedly different clinical symptoms and background from typical cases of blistering distal dactylitis.
