Abstract
We report a 34-year-old man with livedo reticularis who tended to develop multiple ulcerations in the summer time. He had a 7-year history of livedo lesions and multiple painful ulcers on his lower extremities. The ulcers developed only during the summer time (from June to September). Histopathological findings revealed the capillaries in the upper dermis to be dilated and the walls of the capillaries showed fibrin deposition. In the middle to deep dermis, the walls of the capillaries were thick and occluded with fibrin deposits. Lymphocyte infiltration around the capillaries and eccrine ducts was also observed. The oral administration of diaminodiphenylsulfone (DDS) at a dose of 150 mg/day was markedly effective on the ulcers.
